 HOW DOES TURBO-FLOW WORK?

Before

After

When a mineral dissolves in water, it disassociates into charged particles of opposite charge, known as ions. Those with a positive electrical charge are known as 'cations', and those with a negative charge are known as 'anions'.

It is a proven electro-chemical phenomenon that, when an electrical current is passed through a solution containing ions, electrolysis takes place and deposition occurs on equipment.

Greater deposition will occur:
  • If the water quality is poor, i.e. if it contains large amounts of dissolved solids;

  • If the piping and associated equipment consists of two or more dissimilar metals; or

  • with evaporation and subsequent crystallization, if the water is heated.

To stop this deposition, the ions have to be neutralized to form uncharged atoms and molecules, so that they can be flocculated as a suspension in the water, rather than a deposition on equipment. This process is achieved with the aid of the Turbu-Flow's complex alloy element. This element is made of numerous metals, scientifically selected from the galvanic scale.

When the ion-laden water comes into contact with the element, the ions are attracted onto the element, causing them to be neutralized. Due to the critical configuration of the water velocity over the elements, turbulence is created and the ions are washed off in a harmless colloidal suspension as neutral particles.

The neutral particles are then removed in a variety of ways:
  • they are flushed out in an open system;

  • they collect in the low point of a vessel, in a soft state to be removed periodically; or

  • they can be removed through a totally dissolved solids bleed
